Split ist die zweitgr\u00f6\u00dfte Stadt Kroatiens. Die Altstadt, die sich um den aus dem 4. Jahrhundert stammenden Diokletianpalast entwickelt hat, wurde 1979 von der UNESCO zum Weltkulturerbe erkl\u00e4rt. Bis zum Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts lebte die Stadt innerhalb der Mauern. Zu dieser Zeit begann die teilweise Zerst\u00f6rung der j\u00fcngsten Barockbastionen aus dem 17. Jahrhundert, die bis in die Gegenwart andauern. Die Bastionen sind heute kaum erkennbar und ihrem Potenzial wurde bislang wenig Beachtung geschenkt. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist, die Fortifikationsarchitektur der Kaiserstadt Split zu untersuchen und eine entsprechende Strategie der Umnutzung von Bastionen zu finden.
\nDer Umgang mit historisch\/kulturell hochrangigem Bauerbe soll im Zusammenhang mit den aktuellen Bed\u00fcrfnissen der Stadt und den Einwohnern stehen.<\/p>\n
