Ziele der Lehrveranstaltung<\/div>\n

Die Ziele der \u00dcbung liegen in der Vermittlung von fachgerechten Bauma\u00dfnahmen am Denkmal sowie des Bauens im Bestand historischer und denkmalgesch\u00fctzter Baustrukturen.<\/p>\n

Inhalt der Lehrveranstaltung<\/div>\n

Das Erlernen von Erhaltungs- und Bauma\u00dfnahmen oder der baulichen Weiterentwicklung von denkmalgesch\u00fctzten Geb\u00e4uden, Ensembles, Fabrikanlagen sowie Industriebrachen.<\/p>\n

Im Sommersemester 2015 widmeten wir unser Augenmerk dem K\u00fcstenfort Marie Louise in Pula. Die Hafenanlagen des ehemaligen Kriegshafens Pola der Habsburger Monarchie wurden von Festungsbauten gesichert. Fort Marie Louise auf der Halbinsel Muzil wurde 1823 errichtet und seither best\u00e4ndig erweitert. Heute suchen die Stadtgemeinde Pula und die staatliche Denkmalbeh\u00f6rde Kroatiens nach geeigneten Nachnutzungen f\u00fcr die Fortifikation.
\nDie Projekte wurden in Gruppen, zweisprachig ( englisch und kroatisch) erarbeitet.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Projects <\/div>\n

Pula (ital. Pola), a historically important Croatian city on the Adriatic coast is also the largest city of Istria, and its cultural and economic centre. There is also the sixth largest amphitheatre in the world, which was built in Roman times. Since the beginning of the 19th century all the way to the First World War Pula belongs to the mighty Austro-Hungarian Empire. The Emperor Franz Joseph I, who was with his brother and wartime commander of Archduke Ferdinand Max, brought in 1853 a decision to Pula, thanks to its military strategically important location, to turn it into a major naval port of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This led to a rapid development of the city. During the expansion of the military port of Pula were built large public facilities such as shipyards, naval and infantry barracks, a naval hospital and defence fortress. Pula is designated as a fortress of the first rank, and in the hills above the city there are 28 forts and armoured towers (towers). Between Brijuni and the land there is located an outside port with a size of 8.6 km2, which in addition to military roles also had great importance for civil commercial transactions. The Austro-Hungarian Ministry of War in Pula had a naval academy, hydrographic institutes, laboratories and an artillery arsenal, which had up to 2,000 workers. It all points to the importance of the naval port of Pula in the monarchy. Today, after almost 100 years, as its wartime role belongs to the past, we are facing a huge task to find an adequate alternative for this area. Large parts of the military port of Pula are still inaccessible military areas, mostly unused. With a revitalization project this area should be opened for a new urban life. Close scrutiny of the landscape, buildings and inventory on the ground we passed in the new guise of the peninsula Muzil. With the existing connection between the old military buildings and the Istrian flora an exciting symbiosis with urban life could be created. The territory is dominated by three elements: the sea, the Istrian landscape and history, which are also the main themes of the project. The Muzil envisions a balanced combination of cultural and educational events and sporting activities tailored to locals and their guests from other countries. The historically important complex is due attention and professional revitalization refitted to selected facilities brought to a new quality of urban space in large scale. Special attention is given to the former maritime fortress Maria Luisa and its use throughout the year. With minimal touch there will be set a path that will allow visitors to view the track of time. It will be attached to a tower with a maritime museum and torpedo tunnels. The barracks became a botanical research centre containing a campus with laboratories for scientists and their students to study the local vegetation. The Convenient location of a port in a sheltered bay is destined for a sailing school, their shipyard and restaurants. The master plan also envisages the extension and expansion of the sports and entertainment infrastructure. We are sure that the Muzil peninsula with its facilities has a great potential to turn after its turbulent war-navy past into a place of peace and coexistence of man and nature. <\/p>\n
